ARNNL is seeking feedback on the draft Entry-Level Competencies for Nurse Practitioners.
Entry-level competencies (ELCs) are defined as those that a novice Nurse Practitioner (NP) can be expected to perform within the first two years of practice. The ELCs were developed as part of a national analysis conducted by the Canadian Council of Registered Nurse Regulators. If you would like additional information about the development of the competencies, please see the About Entry-Level Competencies document available at: https://arnnl.ca/sites/default/files/About-ELC.pdf
Links to the draft regulatory document and feedback survey are included below. Please review the draft document before proceeding to the feedback survey.
Feedback obtained from the consultation process will help with alignment between nurse practitioner nursing program curricula and the work of entry-level practitioners. In addition, it will inform future decisions regarding entry-to-practice exams and permit nursing regulatory bodies across the country to work towards harmonizing requirements for licensure.
