Clinical Nurse Specialist

Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is a registered nurse who holds a master's or doctoral degree in nursing with expertise in a clinical nurse speciality; uses in-depth knowledge and skills, advanced judgment and clinical experience in a nursing speciality to assist in providing solutions for complex health care issues (CNA, 2008). A CNS plays a pivotal role in the provision of safe, effective, evidence-based care and supporting nurses ensuring that they are able to maximize their skills and abilities.
