Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation

In July 2014, Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation, commonly known as “CASL,” came into force. CASL regulates the use of electronic messages, such as emails, for the purpose of encouraging participation in a “commercial activity.” To comply with CASL, emails sent by ARNNL to ARNNL members and stakeholders promoting what is considered to be a commercial activity will contain an unsubscribe function. By using the unsubscribe function, ARNNL members and stakeholders will not receive further emails with respect to the specified commercial activity. ARNNL members will not be able to unsubscribe to emails from ARNNL which do not constitute a “commercial activity.”
