St. John’s, NL – May 11, 2015 – The Association of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (ARNNL) and the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CLPNNL) join their counterparts across Canada from May 11-17 in recognizing National Nursing Week (NNW) and its theme, “Nurses: With you every step of the way.”
Regina Coady, ARNNL President, said that NNW provides an opportunity to recognize the valuable contributions that registered nurses (RNs) and nurse practitioners (NPs) make throughout the province.
At provincial government pre-budget consultations on March 6, the Association of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (ARNNL), the Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association (NLMA), the Pharmacists’ Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (PANL) and the Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter of the College of Family Physicians of Canada (NLCFPC) expressed their sharedsupport for innovative strategies that promote primary health care renewal in the province.
Nursing regulation in the province, and the role of ARNNL, are getting some international profile this month. "Nursing Regulation on the Eastern Edge of North America," penned by ARNNL Executive Director Lynn Power, is featured in the National Council of State Boards of Nursing's publication, In Focus.
